70 degrees and sunny...

A couple weekends ago the weather was absolutely beautiful. Well, it is always beautiful here, but that week was especially nice. I’m talking 70 degrees, crystal blue sky, with a slight breeze. We couldn’t pass up taking advantage of the unseasonably warm weather, so we went on a hike on a trail close to our house. It was so green and beautiful. Although I’m not much of a hiker buff, we kept it pretty easy and only a few miles. Afterwards we came home and cooked up a yummy Korean dinner for the missionaries. Brad was in seventh heaven preparing the food... any excuse to eat Korean food!
This picture doesn't show much of the surrounding scenery, but it shows how green it was
We came across this random bunch of branches on the hike

In the middle of all the fun festivities I got a call from my best friend Janelle- letting me know that she is engaged! Yay!! She is getting married late spring/early summer and we are so happy and excited for her! Her fiancĂ© served his mission in Korea (like Brad did) which makes for good conversation for the guys when we’re together!

I need to find a hobby....

Okay, so I know that I have been completely slacking on the blogging of our ‘post-Christmas’ happenings. Well, I shouldn’t have any excuses anymore because I will have a lot of free time on my hands the next 6 weeks. Why is that you might wonder? Last week Brad was given a new audit assignment... in Utah. Yes, my wonderful, sweet, knows-me-better-than-anyone-else husband has left me for Utah for the next month and a half. He gets to come home on weekends (Fri night-Sun night), but for the rest of the time he is working long, busy days. But don’t feel too sorry for him... he gets to see his family, eat yummy food, and catch up with old buddies.

So, if anyone is thinking that a trip to San Francisco sounds good... it’s going to be 65 and sunny the next few weeks, and I’m totally up for visitors! :)

Family Pictures

We also took family pictures while in Utah. Although it was bitter cold, very windy, and we had to stomp through 2 feet of snow... we had a fun time taking them and they turned out really cute! Here are a few:

White Christmas 2008

This year we spent Christmas in Utah. Christmas was definitely a white one! About 2 feet of snow fell Christmas day and the day after.

While in Utah, we did several things with the family:

1) Went to two Christmas Parties
2) Watched several movies and wayyyyy too much Seinfeld
3) Went to lunch with Brad's mission president and his wife
4) Caught up with old friends- thanks Bakers, Revells and Millers!
Brad with baby Mariah

5) Shoveled a lot of snow

6) Learned how to make scarfs and beanies
Brad and Nelly modeling my scarf that I made.

7) Made homemade pizzas

8) Ate at an amazing restaurant called the Red Iguana....highly recommend it!
9) Went to a Ryan and Laurie's sealing....President Benson's son (Mark Benson) was the sealer.
10) Played a lot of late night games with the family.
11) Rocked out on Rockband (even Brad's dad got into it)

We enjoyed every minute of our vacation. The only problem is that time went by too fast! Now we are back in California and back to reality. Thanks for the fun trip Hardcastles!

2nd Anniversary

December 29th was our 2nd Anniversary! I can hardly believe how quick the past 2 years have gone.

We celebrated with a night in the city... Salt Lake City that is. It was a wonderful little getaway!
