B&B Wedding Day!

On Saturday, my little brother got married.  Woah, still trying to wrap my head around that one.  I can't believe he's a married man now!  We are all so excited to have Britni in the family, hope she's ready for a little craziness because that's how the Urry's roll! :)

Owen was being extremely whiney a little less than cooperative for wedding day, so I don't have too many pictures to show... bummer!  I think the 3 of us ended up in one official wedding photo!  Anywho, the weather was perfect and the sealing & reception were very nice.  It was so fun to see some of my aunts, uncles, and cousins who I hadn't seen in forever (and who Brad hadn't seen since our wedding 5+ years ago!)

Ah... my temple!  This looks like a postcard, right?  Love it!
Look at those sleepy eyes... and we had to resort to the paci.  Desperate times call for desperate measures!
Luke, Aunt Sherilyn, and Ross
Only family shot of the whole day!
Kisses during meltdown #I-can't-even-remember :)
Great-grandpa Fox (or "more Papa" according to Owen), Owen & Brad waiting for the happy couple
And there they are!  Apparantly I never got a picture of their faces... whoops.  Love my little sister's expression here!
Family is the best and I am glad we were able to be there for Bryant & Britni's special day.

San Diego

This year, as always, we headed down to San Diego to visit my family and participate in Beach Week.  Beach Week was actually only Beach half-week this year because Bryant's wedding was on Saturday!  We were down for a little over a week and tried to pack in as much fun as possible during those 8 days.
We started out the week on the right foot-- woofum's and smore's with our friends the Andrews.  (They were our neighbors in Concord and have since moved to San Diego.  We love getting together with them when we come to visit!)
Daddy & Owen.  Notice the bucket-- a constant companion of Owen that week.
 Getting more rocks, I'm sure!
Grant & Luke trying out the skimboards
Love this shot.  I know, we are crazy parents who put a life jacket on our kid at the beach... BUT... this kid has no fear!  Would run straight into the water and keep going if we let him.  At least having the jacket on gave me a greater sense of security!
 My sassy sister
Owen "helping" the guys with their frisbee game
Brad and Owen went out a few times.  They got pretty far out there!  I, of course, was nervous but Brad said Owen loved it!  I have no doubt.
Owen and Papa building sandcastles (ie: Papa building sand castles, and Owen promptly destroying in .5 seconds!)
2 of my best friends from high school have also had babies the last year.  All boys!  These 3 will be best buds in no time!
Owen and Mimi checking out the waves
Killing time at the campsite by watching Elmo in the trailer.
And even more Elmo during breakfast... only way this kiddo would sit still and eat!
Owen getting a drink of "Daddy's juice".
 Love my busy little boy!
 The whole Urry family!
Hardcastles... Owen was thrilled, can't you tell?
*30 week baby bump*

After the beach, we managed to throw in a few more activities before wedding festivities took over.
Brad and I snuck away one night to a Padre game.  Great seats, great game, and they even won!  Woohoo!
Another morning we grabbed the youngest kiddos and went off to Bates Nut Farm.  I have so many childhood memories of this place!  We didn't stay too long, but the kids sure had fun feeding the animals.

 Owen loved feeding the "goats"...
I let it slide that some were actually sheep.  Look at that face--pure joy!
On our way home from the farm we got some rolled tacos at Chitos-- the best taco shop ever!  I couldn't believe Brad had never tried them before (he's only known me for 6+ years).  That might have been the highlight of the trip for Brad.  Okay, not really, but those tacos were sooo good!
We finished up the week with the wedding and all the excitement that comes with that!  Until next time San Diego.

4th of July

With the 4th falling on a Wednesday this year, we couldn't really make a long weekend out of the holiday.  I was initially bummed since Brad doesn't get too many holidays off work.  Instead we stayed close to home and had a relaxing family day... and it was definitely the better decision.
We started off the morning by spending a few hours at the Herriman Reservoir.  We got there early, so it wasn't too crowded.  The water level was so low!  (A combination of an extremely dry winter/spring, and also helicopters using the water to help fight a fire we had the previous week.)  However, for our little toddler, it was actually perfect becuase he had a built in retaining wall that helped keep him close.  We ran into a couple from our ward who had brought a kayak and Owen & Brad enjoyed a few trips around in it.  I enjoyed the quiet, relaxing view from the shore. :)

After family naps (Ah!  Bliss!) we headed to Brad's parents for a BBQ with his extended family.  Owen, of course, had to do a little more swimming while the rest of us enjoyed some yummy food.

We rounded out the evening at Riverton City's fireworks show.  We enjoyed some walking, people watching, and shaved ice while we waited.  Once the fireworks finally started Owen wasn't sure what to think... they were so loud!  After we covered his ears for him, he was mesmerized and wide-eyed the whole time.

Overall a great day and I'm so grateful for those who serve so we can have memories like these!

Summer Fun

The last few weeks we've been busy visiting enjoying one our favorite things about summertime in Utah: the outdoors! 2 weeks ago we had FHE with all of Brad's family at Copperton Park.  I had never been before, but Brad remembers going there when he was little. It is on the west side of the valley, near the copper mine and has big trees (shade=a very good thing for this pregnant lady right now) and huge tires/slides/etc. for the little ones to enjoy.
Nothing says summer picnic like some good ol' fried chicken!

Owen taking a ride on Uncle Spenny's board... he also loved 'walking' Roxy around the park too.  Of course, his idea of a 'walk' was to just let go of the leash and watch it drag on the ground in front of him as Roxy ran free.  It was still worth it just to hear that laugh of his every time it happened.

When it was time to go, Owen was more than ready to help.

Later that week the three of us drove to the other side of the valley, to Big Cottonwood Canyon and walked around Silver Lake.  There is about a 1 mile flat trail surrounding the lake, perfect distance and intensity for our family.  Owen started out in the backpack, but ended up walking about half of the way.  It was such a beautiful night!  Unfortunately with all of the wildfires around the state right now, the skies haven't been this clear since.  Hopefully we can get some cooler weather to help with the firefighting and to bring back our beautiful summer nights! {It's raining today!  YAY!}

 Costco pizza, our family's favorite!

Attempted family shot-- don't have too many of these.  I'll take it.

Love these 2 boys.  Excited for 1 more to join the mix in 2 months

Owen sure loves his daddy.   I enjoyed walking behind and watching as they picked up/threw rocks and examined all the bugs/trees/ducks/fish/etc.  Yes, this little guy is ALL boy!
