Herriman Days

Last weekend was Herriman Days--one of our favorite weekends during the summer.  Although we opted out of the movie in the park this year, Owen was finally old enough to ride some of the carnival rides.  We spent Friday night at the carnival with the Beckstroms and Owen had a blast with McKay.

Saturday morning was the parade and the boys absolutely loved it!  We were able to sit with other friends-- the Roots, Moxleys, and Talleys.

The boys had so much fun with their friends, and it didn't take long for them to figure out how to maximize their candy.  They were dancing, shimmying, shouting, and doing whatever it took to get that candy!  We all had a great time.

(Hard to tell but Porter's pockets are stuffed full of candy.  He held his own grabbing that stuff.

Park City Girl's Weekend

Earlier this year I received an invitation to my 10 year high school reunion.  I checked in with my high school friends and we decided that we'd rather do a girl's weekend than attend the actual reunion.  We got together last weekend in beautiful Park City for 3 days and it was awesome.  We laughed, we cried, we reminisced, we ate way too much food, and enjoyed the time together.  No matter where life takes you, there is a special bond that you will always have with your childhood friends and I am so grateful for these ladies!

10 years later and still looking good!

We enjoyed walking on the trails each morning- the weather was gorgeous and it was a nice break from demands of "more milk" "more crackers" "I dropped my shoe!" that I usually get on my walks.

Friday afteroon we explored Park City Mountain Resort and decided to ride the zip line.  It was so fun!
(Had to include this picture of Janelle- she was terrified!)

I snapped this picture on the way down.  What a gorgeous view!

The rest of the time was spent shopping, hot tubing, painting nails & doing face masks, eating out, catching up, and just being me for a bit!  As much as I love my boys, there is definitely something to be said for a little personal time every once in a while.  Can't wait for the next one!

Memorial Day Weekend

We were able to spend Memorial Weekend in Duchesne, UT with much of Brad's extended family to attend the dedication of a new veteran's memorial.  On the way, we made a few stops and made a mini-vacation out of it.
First stop was Bridal Veil Falls in Provo Canyon.

Next we stopped for some bowling & dinner in Heber City

Aunt Kathy was nice enough to let us sleep in her trailer while visiting.  This may have been the boys favorite part of the trip.  They love to camp!

On second thought, maybe it was the donuts.  They obviously love donuts!

Taking a walk around Duchesne.  I sort of love this picture.

Showing some patriotism for the memorial dedication.

Brad's Uncle Rod spoke at the dedication and gave a beautiful tribute to veteran's.  You can read some of his words here: http://www.deseretnews.com/article/865603902/Duchesne-dedicates-new-memorial-to-countys-veterans.html?pg=all

Afterwards we had a family barbecue, visited the family graves at the cemetery, and checked out cousin Ryan's farm.

It was a great weekend- maybe a new Memorial Day tradition!

Riding the Train with Papa

Papa Urry visited for a long weekend in April and while he was here, he took Owen on his first train ride.  (Aunt Taryn went too.)  They rode Trax up to Temple Square and got lunch, checked out the visitor's centers, and then headed back.  Owen talks about it all the time!  He loved it.

Papa also spent a little time with Porter.  I love this picture of them together.  I am very grateful that my boys have 4 grandparents (Grammy, Papa H, Mimi, & Papa U) who love spending time with them and are always thinking of fun things to do together.
